The Leedahls Update – May 23, 2015

“You’ve got to commit to it!”

That’s what Jon’s PT told him as Jon started training on the loaner leg 2x daily this week. Each step Jon takes has to be intentional. Once he takes the step, he has to follow through so his leg will work properly. Just the right weight shift, not enough and he could easily fall. “Easier said than done,” Jon said!

Jon worked really hard to gain balance, strength, and ease as each step took thought, effort, and lots of sweat. By the end of the five days, the PT guys let Jon take the leg home for the weekend to practice on his own. With only one graceful fall, Jon is doing great!!!

Thank you all for praying for Jon’s skin on his stump, we check it after each session & it’s holding up. Praise God!!

Continue to pray for Jon to build up strength as he gets fatigued & his left leg starts to shake. With time his body will be used to walking again.

We’ve been having a great time here in Rochester at Pat & Dawn Wester‘s house. They are taking such good care of us!!

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” (Ps 37:23, 24)

  4. Hi,
I don’t know you, but have been following your blog since Jon’s accident. I found it through a link from the Jones family blog. I just needed to say that I am so amazed and impressed by Jon and your whole family. I teared up watching these, especially seeing your boys in the background. I kept thinking of the memories these boys will have to remind them throughout their lives how to deal with adversity. God bless your family. Prayers from Michigan!

Praying for you on a regular basis here in Bolivia. Your journey has been such a tremendous testimony of God’s grace. ‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.’ Galatians 6:9

Hi, I am Sean Richards’ great aunt. I wouldn’t be here if Jinny had not posted a link to this exact page. And like 3rd grader I had to know how you got to this stage. So I kept clicking older posts until I finally got to the post that told about your 3 wheeler wreck and then your most recent wreck. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! God is not finished with you yet you important work left to do for Him!

Sure continue to pray for both of you. PTL that Jon’s stump is holding up. May the Lord continue to give him daily strength and balance.
