The Leedahls Update – Next stop: Prosthetic!

Leedahls - 032515Surgery is done! Jon’s time in the recovery room went faster today. He has some pain but it’s being managed well.

The doctor said he thinks he got all the dead muscle. The doctor took just a wee little bit out that he found today, then he sewed Jon up. He’ll have a drain tube in his stump for a couple days. Not sure when they’ll discharge him yet. We will do IV antibiotics for 2 weeks.

Jon will be fitted for a prosthetic on Friday. He should have enough muscle left to support himself. Time will tell. Doc said he can be up walking on Monday w/ a prosthetic & crutches! Yes Monday! We asked for clarification.

Jon is just thrilled! He said it’s surreal to be talking about a prosthetic after all this time! Praise God!!

Thank you all for praying for us & waiting with us for surgery. Now it’s time to recover. And then rehab.

Thanks for walking step by step with us!

“My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!” (Psalms 84:2, 5, 11, 12 NKJV)

I join with you and the Body of Christ in celebrating this good news. Oh, Lord–bless this healing today and shine your light upon the prosthetic process so long yearned for. Thank you for the trust of Jon, Adi and their family, and that You have used their faith to encourage so many. Bless them, especially Friday: Prosthetic Day! Strengthen and protect Jon’s muscles so his new leg will allow him to reach new heights for You. “Since we are surrounded by such a crowd of witnesses…let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1

  10. Still praying for you guys. How wonderful that you are back in the States and are with family. The blessing of family is inexpressible!

  11. As I read this tonight there has been so much praise coming from my lips. You would not believe how hard I’ve prayed for this for Jon. Laying in my bed at the hospital I would ask the Lord to make it possible for Jon to have the prosthetic and fly again. I so want to see Jon in that plane. Blessings to you both and for all your family and friends who have given so much support..

God Bless you Jon. You are in my prayers. I know what you are going through as I have been there and done that. Jon please let me tell you one thing. for 62 years I have been walking on a leg like you are going to get. I have found out that handy capped is not in the body it is in the mind. I have gone places and done tings that I was told I could never do. I was missionary in Latin America for 41 years. Jon the best is still to come.
