The Leedahls Update – Recovering from surgery

Jon is doing well today. He’s eating, resting & the only issue is a high pulse rate. Thanks for praying for Jon during his surgery yesterday. He stayed in the recovery room for over three hours trying to manage his pain. He was at a level 9 (on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest!) And Jon has a very high pain tolerance. Poor baby!

They were able to get him comfortable with a nerve block & some strong pain meds. He slept okay last night. Nurses checking in on him often.

Leedahls - 032415The resident doctor visited him this morning. He said Jon lost a lot of blood in surgery and they’ll assess tomorrow morning in surgery if he’ll need a transfusion. He was very pleased with Jon’s stump movements, saying he’s got nice strong muscles he’s built up through rehab. (Go, Jon!) He thinks Jon should have enough leg for a prosthetic. We’re asking for God’s will to be done. Pray what ever the outcome we’ll continue to rest & have peace in Him!

Pray for Jon as he goes in early tomorrow morning for surgery again to inspect and then sew his stump back up. We will update as we know more.

Meanwhile we are happy with the care we are receiving here at Mayo. The boys are happily playing & enjoying time with Grandma Cam and Aunt Dawn Wester! Very thankful to be close to family again!!

I am praying for you guys. You don’t know me, but Cam and I were friends and roommates in our “before marriage” days.

I have followed Jon’s progress since I first learned of his accident. We are rooting for him and committing his recovery to the Lord.

Jon has done amazingly well in his attitude and trust.

Now I hope this is the last of surgery on this stump, will ask God for healing – total healing now. And may that infection disappear and Jon get stronger and feel better.

Thank you for all the verses you have shared with your updates. Such a real life example of trust.

We live in the Mpls area so we are not far from you.

I am sure your boys loved the recent snow, but maybe the transition from hot weather to cold weather was shocking and unprepared.

God wrap His arms of comfort and hope around you both today. And in the name of Jesus heal Jon. Debbie Torpen
