The Leedahls Update – Out of surgery!

Leedahls - 032315Jon’s surgery lasted about 2 hours. Dr Shives said they had to remove about 50% of his thigh tissue –his muscle. He has his quadriceps left (top of the thigh) and some of his hamstring (on the bottom.) They also had to remove some of the end of the bone. Dr. Shives said he hopes it will be enough to support a prosthesis and hopes it will be better than removing the entire leg.

They will take him back into surgery on Wednesday. If it looks like they got all the dead tissue out and no infection is present, then they will close him up.

That’s all we know right now. Thank you for praying!

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6, 7 NKJV)

At my husband’s business conference, I have had yet more opportunities to share the power of God at work in young lives (yours) facing the hardest challenges. Your steadfast testimony of faith and courage and determination to get back to PNG by God’s grace is thrilling to fellow Believers, and hopefully a step in reaching others who are astounded by all that has happened. God bless you as you now “enjoy” yet another recovery form yet another surgery. Prayers continue.

We have been praying ever since we heard about the trip and new place for you and your family. Especially for today, with the surgery. You look so alert! We’ll continue our prayers all this week. We prayed for the team in surgery this morning also.

      Love and prayers as always,
      Evelyn and Curtis Lee

Jon and your family continue to be in our prayers!

I’ll be continuing to pray for you both.

PS. I first heard about your situation through Natalie Nelson in PNG via email / Facebook? shortly after the accident.

Praying for healing. Praying for stamina as you both run the races set before you – faith marathons that are leading to a good end. Keep hanging on to the Author and Perfecter of your faith and be comforted in knowing that on the days when you are too weary to hang on to Him, He is still hanging on to you!

We continue to pray for all of you at this very difficult time in your lives.

  7. So thankful for you and praying for grace and strength. Love and Prayers, The Peters Rom.8:31-39
