The Leedahls Update – Feb. 23, 2015

Prayer request guys: Jon has had a large blister that formed on his inner right thigh on his stump.
The plastic surgeon said it was a matter of time before it would burst. Something he’d rather happen naturally than to go in surgically to clean up & introduce bacteria.

Well, Saturday that “bubble” burst and oozed some sluff/pus. The nurse cleaned it up and said keep an eye on it.

Tonight’s nurse was concerned about it being a possible deeper issue. She is sending pictures to the plastic surgeon and we’re taking a blood test in the morning to rule out anything. They’ll be checking his white blood cell count and CRP (it’s a test to detect any inflammation.)

Jon L - 022315Pray for us as our minds immediately race to all the possible outcomes. Pray for peace, wisdom for doctors, and for healing of Jon’s open wounds.

In the meantime, we are excited about our dear friends the Haberchaks arriving tomorrow. We just love this family and we’re so happy they are coming. Good timing too! Isn’t it amazing to see God provide just the right people to come & help just when we need it? I love to see how God shows us His love through the presence, comfort, and help of others.

Today Jon and I were both blessed as we watched God provide encouragement through lovely people! A coffee date w/ a beautiful friend for me and a visit with a dear friend for Jon tonight. Our Great God hears our prayers and deepest longings–He is that in tune with His children.

Thank you guys for praying for us!! We’ll let you know what the blood test results are and what will be the course of action. It could just be another wound to clean & maintain for while.

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You. (Psalms 143:8 NKJV)”

  1. I continue to lift you up to the Lord.
Precious Heavenly Father, how we praise you for Who You Are. You are Still the Great I Am!

Thank You for your continuous care for Jon and Adie! Thank you for sending the right people to them, always at just the time they are needed!
How weeks and possibly months ago, You placed in their hearts and schedules, these appointed times

Thank you for the skills, wisdom, insight, love, and compassion of the nursing staff caring for Jon and his wounds.
Allow Your peace to overcome Jon and Adie this evening. Oh God, You know exactly what they need, revive their spirits, bringing renewed hope and assurance that You are still in control of every aspect of recovery. Let them continue to grow closer to You through this new challenge.
use it to bring the Gospel to more people who will turn their lives over to You .

    Amen

  4. Dear Jon and Adie,

I am sorry to hear about this event and trust that there is not a deep tissue involvement. But Got has taken you both through so much already, that I know He will carry you both through this as well.

I know that this period of time is the adjustment phase of your situation and pray that you will be carried on His everlasting arms each day.
