Discharged this evening. Had a long day of figuring whether to keep Jon in or let him go. Whether to train me to do wound care or bring in home health services. Because of the depth of the wound, it was decided that Jon needed at the very least 2 wound cleanings a day and for a nurse to do it.
Jon is doing well. Tired and a little sore throat from the tubing they put down his throat for surgery. He’s not on any pain meds because he has no feeling in his stump. That’s a blessing! Now to wait, rest, and heal.
Dinner with the Geis’s just made our night! So blessed by them. As we got home we got a call from David Lena Chapman who had to unexpectedly stay overnight here in Cairns and leave very early tomorrow. We drove to meet her & boy was I so happy to get a Lena hug!!!!!
Loving the benefits of recovering here in Cairns. We still get to see our very loved & missed PNG family/friends!! Thanks for praying guys! Pray Jon doesn’t get any infections & everything heals well.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (II Corinthians 1:3, 4 NKJV)
