The Leedahls Update – Feb. 6, 2015

10360963_10152733071762252_7218353384904555044_nDischarged this evening. Had a long day of figuring whether to keep Jon in or let him go. Whether to train me to do wound care or bring in home health services. Because of the depth of the wound, it was decided that Jon needed at the very least 2 wound cleanings a day and for a nurse to do it.

Jon is doing well. Tired and a little sore throat from the tubing they put down his throat for surgery. He’s not on any pain meds because he has no feeling in his stump. That’s a blessing! Now to wait, rest, and heal.

Dinner with the Geis’s just made our night! So blessed by them. As we got home we got a call from David Lena Chapman who had to unexpectedly stay overnight here in Cairns and leave very early tomorrow. We drove to meet her & boy was I so happy to get a Lena hug!!!!!

Loving the benefits of recovering here in Cairns. We still get to see our very loved & missed PNG family/friends!! Thanks for praying guys! Pray Jon doesn’t get any infections & everything heals well.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (II Corinthians 1:3, 4 NKJV)

So thankful for the body of Christ as they gather around you in love. We are keeping you all in our prayers. We know you are in God’s care. May you sense His presence always.

  4. John and Addie,

I am very glad to hear that you are doing so well. Remember that this is a long distance run, not a sprint.
I remember when I first lost my left leg, my only goal was to walk again. Now is the time to look farther down the road. I am here to listen any time YOU need to really vent. Going through what you are going through can be overwhelming. Just know that you have others to support you in other ways as well. I am here whenever you need to talk, ask questions, discuss anything you want.
Keeping you close to my heart, in my thoughts constantly.
