The Leedahls Update – Jan. 14, 2015

And the vac dressing is OFF today, my friends!!! The doctors decided Jon’s stump wound looked good today. He now has a clear bandage that will be changed weekly. Praise God!!! It’s another step in the healing process.

Next week is Jon’s CT scan to decide if his left foot looks good and to decide on the crutches. After all this daily stuff with the hospital, what a relief to have things go to a weekly basis! He still has a nurse visit him daily until the docs clear him.

10615439_10152688046032252_7856247391729047020_nToday was a busy day driving all around town, so not a lot of pix taken. Jon had doc appts, rehab, and his home exercises. It ended nicely with me using the rest of my gift certificate at the spa from my sweet man. Thanks, Jon!! Dinner made and with some really sweet thoughtful friends and our yard was mowed by another very kind friend.

Seriously feeling SO grateful for the many folks willing to be such a blessing to us during this time!! So with not much to report now daily (it’s a good thing–it’s what we’ve all been praying for–for healing!), I’m going to a weekly post now. Pray for us as we are still learning to adjust to life, family, and normalcy–or whatever that looks like for us.

Also, some have asked about our future plans. They are obviously in God’s hands and we will go/do what He would desire for our family. Our heart’s desire is to get Jon back on his feet, flying again, and then right back to PNG to serve with missionary aviation. Pray along with us as we trust God with our future!

We love you guys & we thank God for ALL of you guys around the world praying on our behalf. Just know we’re still here– so please feel free to email, FB, visit, call, send letters, etc!

“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.” (Mark 8:34-35 ESV)

    Dear Jon and Adie,

Such good news! Thanks for all the posts that you have made, and will continue to pray for healing and restoration of function. Do you have an address for surface mail? Thanks, Lois Snyder (Anne’s mother)

    Dear Adie and family

I have been following your post since shortly after the accident. Jon wasn’t born when I was in a bible study with Cam through the West Prairie Church. My husband and I live only 6 miles from Kindred and 2 miles east of West Prairie. I have known Cam since we were both nurses at St. Luke’s in Fargo. We were both single at that time. My children, Adam and Taya are about the same ages of Jon’s siblings.

I just want you to know how much I enjoy your post. They are so upbeat, thankful and inspiring. I can tell the Lord is with you. I am at peace after reading each post. Also, our church, Kindred Lutheran has Jon and your family in our prayers.

I traveled in Europe with an Australian nun back in the early 70’s. I have informed her of your situation and she too has friends and family praying for you. She is in NSW so is a distance from you.

My prayers continue for you and your entire family. Carlotta Spelhaug

Dear Jon & Adie, How my husband & I have prayed for and rejoiced in what He is doing in your lives. I doubt that you have any idea, how many lives your lives are touching because of Jon’s “accident!” We will be praying that a new “norm” will be established quickly, and that each of you will continue to find His strength sufficient, and rest for your physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health! Thanks you for sharing your journey. You are being used by our Father in ways, I’m sure you’ll never realize until we’re all with the LORD! 🙂 We are privileged to pray for you, and will continue doing so. I’ll be looking for those weekly updates!

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6, NASB.

Thanks for the recent update. We praise the Lord that Jon is progressing.

  7. I know you through Paul and Andrea Wilson. I have been praying for you. May God give you wisdom and strength as you seek His purposes and plans for your future. I have been encouraged by your faith expressed in your writing.

We have just had our “Pathway Youth Group” gathering here in Chelmsford, Essex, England, UK. Our church is the Baptist Church, New London Road in the city. We are a (very) small but enthusiastic group.

One of the leaders, Angela, has been giving us some information about NTM in PNG. She was part of a group that visited PNG some years ago and has maintained an interest in the Lord’s work there.

As part of her presentation, she told us about your current situation. It has been really challenging and we felt that it was important to contact you to let you know that we are praying for you all as a family. By the Lord’s help we will try to keep up to date with how He will continue to use you to His glory, open ways for continued service, and provide for your needs.

    Keep on going on.

Hannah, Stephen, Joe, Pastor David and, of course, Angela. 1Cor 15:58.
