The Leedahls Update – Dec. 18, 2014

Busy day–a little mix up with docs not knowing Jon changed floors, so things took a little bit longer today for assessing & vac changing. But it’s done, looks good & not surprising the vac is back on because there’s still that deep spot that needs healing up. Pray for they spot to just fill in & then he can be vacuum free!

10342750_10152607166312252_7627452230090056118_nWe had a good talk with the rehab team. Tomorrow Jon comes home with an occupational therapist (OT) who will assess our house & make sure it’s “wheelchair-friendly.” The docs are not quite ready to discharge him but it’s getting closer. They would like to see him home more but also doing a lot more exercises to build himself back up. Jon says “it sounds like it will be a lot of hard work!”

Pray for strength for Jon as he needs to get his body ready to walk again. His knee hasn’t had any weight bearing yet. That will come very soon! Pray for supernatural strength & endurance & healing!

Docs say Jon should be able to come home for 2 nights over Christmas!!!!! Can you imagine that?!? 2 full days & nights with Jon home, no curfews, our own house, our own beds, our own Christmas morning together as a family!!! The kids have been asking for this very thing–So excited!!

Jon had a visit from a wonderful lady Barb Prentiss who has helped so much with loaning furniture & has been such an encouragement to our family! She even made Jon his favorite cookies- PB with a Hershey kiss!

Tonight we shared a meal with Ole & Wilsy Ottesen (Hannah Ottosen) and Steve & Michelle Thompson. Their son Isaac was discharged from the ED today with still a wonder what is bothering him. But we’ll have a follow-up appt soon.

We are just so thankful for all of the care & help we have received from these families!! It’s really helped relieve the daily stresses during the day as we try to manage our ever changing life as we know it right now. Praising God for these families tonight!!

The following verse makes me think we can prepare & get ready for things but it’s up to God what will be the outcome of our lives!

“There is no wisdom or understanding Or counsel against the Lord. The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:30-31)

It is for turning a four wheel chair into a three wheel that will go over bumps and is easier to manipulate over rough services like grass etc.

  5. Praying for Jon. Praying for Adie. Praying for kids. Trusting God to work beyond what you ever imagined.
