Jon & Adie Leedahl Update – Nov. 13, 2014 @ 6:50 a.m. CT

IMG_0173Setting up our temporary home today and it’s been fun. People have been so generous!! I got to go secondhand store shopping, which I enjoy!

Tomorrow we get our couches and then I’ll take pix. I’m really happy that things are coming together. Can’t wait to be settled in!

Pray for Jon. He got sick tonight, which is never fun, and he was cold all day today, too. There were some tears earlier today when we read our fellow NTM pilot wife Erica Haberchaks’ blog, “When He Shows Up.

I think this is the beginning of our mourning period. Please pray for us. We love you all and many thanks for your continued prayers and encouragement!

    My heart hurts so for you all. Please continue to trust in God. I’m sure you will. He has much greater things for you than you all can ever imagine. He is always right there with you and will carry you thru all this. When days grow brighter you can truly say “to God be the glory great things He has done”. “Praying with all my heart

    One thing for certain we don’t have to suppress emotion, pretend, or withdraw from
    God who holds us tight as we tell it all to Him. In His arms we are safe and He understands. If this is the time for mourning, know that He will be arranging the comforting deep down in your souls, and in the meantime you will be held tight. I’m so glad He’s our Father. And we ask Him to continue healing, continue holding, continue helping as we all come to His throne of grace together. May you discover aspects of grace you never knew before.

    Hi friends in Christ. I was reading through your friends blog ( when God shows up ) and i was touched by it, some times its hard to know what to say through these difficult times. I know flying was your life, and God lead you to p.n.g for the ministry there, but God dosnt make any mistakes, we make up for that. When we hurt God hurts, because he loves you so much you are his child, and i know these are very discouraging days and there will be many ahead, God carries us during these times, its God who gives you the strength its like when a mother hen covers her chicks with her feathers to protect them, God covers us with loving arms, like a little lamb he gathers us up and holds us close to him. We don’t know what the future holds but its lovely knowing who holds the future you know we have a God of miracles, and many times we limit him what he can do for us. I was reading that commercial airlines had pilots who had only one arm, the other one was artificial, so keep hanging in their and don’t give up, all things are possible, you know the devil wants to break you and get you down spiritually. Its lovely getting all your posts and we continue to pray for you every day. Love Geoff & Gwen.

    Been praying for you since the Diepenbrack’s shared about the need. I have been following your story as well. My heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but I can and do pray.
    ‘We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ Eph. 2:10

  7. Continuing to pray for you guys daily. May the Lord continue to be your strength and comfort.

    The mourning period will come and go several times. Grieving is a long process. We are still going through it. Just try to embrace your faith and know that God has a plan. I would love to visit with you. You can private message me anytime.

    “…great things doeth He,
    which we cannot comprehend”
    Job 37:5

    My Father’s way may twist and turn
    My heart may throb and ache,
    But in my soul I’m glad I know
    He maketh no mistake.

    My cherished plans may go astray,
    My hopes may fade away;
    But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead,
    For He doth know the way.

    There’s so much now I cannot see,
    My eyesight’s far too dim;
    But come what may, I’ll simply trust
    And leave it all to Him

    For by and by the mist will lift,
    And plain it all He’ll make,
    Through all the way though dark to me,
    He made not one mistake.

    God continues to teach us that no matter how much life hurts, He is trustworthy…and He makes no mistakes. Lifting you before the Great Physician.

    Jon and Adie,

    I pray now in the powerful name of Jesus that He will remove this sickness from Jon. That He will wrap him in His warm, arms of comfort and peace. May you feel His daily strength and know He is always there with you. He is faithful and He is the Great Physician. His mercies are new every morning!!
    Praying much to the King of Kings who loves you deeply!!

    Hi Jon and adie, we were support missionaries at Hoskins for 12 years. We are from n.ireland and know Stephen and Michelle. Been praying much for you. Just listened to a sermon on YouTube by david Platt on Matthew 11 called ‘when faith is hard and the burden too heavy’ and thought of you guys. It is well worn listening to. Love and prayers Angela Mccready

    Many are praying all over the world for you and God’s promises are reliable for you. Do take time to mourn and grieve and shed tears as a family. The boys need to know it is hard to be brave ALL the time. Psalm 61:2 has been a help and encouragement to us over many years through trials when our hearts are ‘overwhelmed’. God continues to give you a ministry, not as you imagined, but with people in Cairns and others as they hear and read your testimonies through this time.

    Haven’t gotten your updates, know you are busy with moving, the boys, and visiting Jon. Saw all your family yesterday and I had just been to Family Fare and can’t resist their bakery so brought muffins and bread to them for a treat. They had the fireplace going as we have had cold weather with those north winds blowing, but little snow. Getting ready to send my Christmas boxes out to AZ and CO. Then I feel I can concentrate on the holidays with my local family. My grandson who is teaching in Prague got his Visa and will be home for the holidays. Another train derailed in Casselton, one carrying lumber and the other empty coal or oil cars. Hope all is going good over there and you are at least enjoying the sunshine, send some this way. Prayers continuing.
