Jon Leedahl Update – Nov. 6, 2014 @ 5:00 a.m. CT

From Jon’s mom Cam…

jagtsbetter“Jon and Adie are spending the evening with JJ and Candace Jagt (pronounced “yacht”, like the ship.) The Jagt family (including Clara, 4, and Macy, 2) flies back to Papua New Guinea early tomorrow morning.

JJ and Candace have been invaluable help and support. They took care of the boys in PNG for a week before bringing them to Cairns. They have been staying in the same house as Adie and the boys, Steven Thompson, and me.

JJ has been working diligently to decrease the stress facing both Jon and Adie, working with Steven on insurance and financial issues, accident reports, housing, and so on. He has given emotional support to Adie and the boys, exhibiting a calmness that Adie has very much appreciated. He has provided companionship for Jon, encouraging him, praying with him, laughing with him, and taking time for “guys night”.

Candace has been beside Adie as much as possible, taking up where Michelle left off, at the hospital, at “home,” and about the town. She has given Adie a shoulder to cry on, arms to hold her, prayers to soothe her, and laughter to lift her spirits. They have been shopping, had their hair done, taken the children to the playground and water lagoon, gone out for lunch, and much more.

Their love for Jon and Adie and the boys is evidenced in all the thoughtful ways they have served them here, and will continue to serve them from PNG. Jon and Adie will miss them very much.

“Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a friend gives delight … ” Proverbs 27:9

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor, for if they fall, one can lift up his companion…” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

  1. Bless you for the support you have given Jon and Adie. We are thankful for the Body of Christ. And Jon and Adie — be assured that many, many, many folk are praying for you and the children at this time. For you to experience 100 or even 110% of His Grace at this time. Rest and keep trusting in Him.

Still praying for Jon and Adie and their family and volunteers daily. So loved the quotes of scripture today. The importance of the love and companionship of Christian friends. Reflective of the early church.

Hello Jon and adie. We just want you to know that we are thinking about you and praying for you. I was reading through your E-mail, sorry your friends have had to leave, its nice having people who you can rely on. Some times we dont understand why things happen the way they do but God knows what you are going through, he’s got something else planned for you. There will be good and bad times ahead, but we are only one of many who are praying for you. God bless for now love and prayers. Geoff & Gwen
