Jon Leedahl Update – Oct. 31, 2014 @ 6:11 a.m. CT

Jon L - 103114Jon is out of surgery. We have not talked with the doctors yet, but Jon is alert, admitting to pain, and talking on the phone.

He is looking forward to a few hours this evening with “the guys”: Steven Thompson and Jon Jagt. They will bring up Subway sandwiches, have some “guy” talk, and probably watch a movie. This is an important part of the effort to keep Jon spiritually and mentally strong.

The support Jon and Adie are receiving is amazing. Jon and Adie read every email, every message, every comment, every card, every letter. They can’t reply personally to most people. At this point in time it is even hard for them to keep in touch with family.

Please keep sharing your encouragement, prayers, and support. The doctors seem surprised not only by Jon’s physical stamina, but by his “mental” state, as well as Adie’s “mental” state. It is a great opportunity to testify to the power of prayer and spiritual support.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Thanking our gracious FATHER for His goodness and mercy to each of you! Know that a small group of ladies on the prayer chain of a small church in a small suburb of Baltimore, MD. are lifting you all before the throne of our AWESOME and SOVEREIGN and MAGNIFICENT GOD! HE IS ABLE, MORE THAN ABLE TO DO EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL WE COULD EVER ASK, THINK, OR IMAGINE…… Glory be to HIM alone!!

  9. Wonderful news of surgery. Praying here in Peru. As I mentioned yesterday please give at least one update daily on, mental, emocional, spiritual, physical condition daily. the more honest your privacy details permit. You do not have to be a super christian. all emotions and struggles are ok.The whole world is praying. I personally check my e-mail 2-3 times a time for whatever notices so as to pray with more insight. Have a great time with the guys tonight Jon. You are an overcomer Jon. God bless you.

Jon and Adie, I continue to pray for you and your family. Praise the Lord for the good care Jon is getting there. May the Lord continue to do abundantly above all you could ever ask or think. He has Jon in His powerful, unfailing hands, and He can do awesome things. May you rest in His eternal love that you can never be separated from!

We are a homeschooling family from Ontario, and met your parents a couple of years ago at the Alliance Conference – such kind folk. Hearing about Jon’s accident through Alliance, you have been much on our hearts and in our prayers. I’ve mentioned you a few times at our church prayer meetings, and we’ve been following the blog. We are so encouraged by the Lord sustaining you all at this time. We really hope this trial will be used by the Lord to “spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.”
    In Christian love,

Thank you for keeping us up to date as we pray. We praise God for holding onto His people when our strength is limited. We praise Him for the joys of family and friends being together,,,, of special treats outside the hospital bounds…. for faith to know, however hard, that this all fits into a bigger plan, and that while we don’t see and know, God sees. We pray Jon and Adie that you will become one in a new and different way. You will experience this differently, but we pray grow as one in fresh understanding of each other and walk hand in hand with hearts in tune. We pray you will have wisdom in talking with each of your boys as their curiosity and questions arise and that you will have the energy and ingenuity to give them the security and purpose of trusting God no matter what. You are surrounded by the many witnesses cheering you on (Hebrews 12) and we are some of those here on earth who do the same. And we pray that the Holy Spirit as He lives inside will grant you great perseverance and patience and we’ll give with you all glory to God. Paul ad Ann Eckert

Dear Jon and Adie, We worked at Hoskins with NTM from 1988 – 2002 and continue to keep posted on all the NTM PNG news. I know you don’t know us, but I feel like we have known you for years. We have been praying for you all and will continue to do so. Thank you for the blessing of your testimony through this challenging time…you are a huge encouragement to us and we know the Lord will uphold you and do mighty things in the future through you Jon and your dear family. We live in Sydney (Aust). Just wondering if there is anything we can send to you in a care package that you need or might enjoy? We would really like to minister to you in this small way, so please if there is anything, let us know.

    Hi Jon,
I’m a friend of Ole and Wilsy Ottonsen here in Cairns. Praying for your continued strength through your recovery.

    2 Corinthians 12:9.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

    Love, Barb

HI …. Just to give you an idea of how widespread the prayer network is. We are friends of Michael McGregor’s parents. However I rec’d the prayer request from someone in the US … we knew them when we lived in Hong Kong and they were in China. We now live in Thailand.

Recently I’ve been meditating on the idea of God’s strength being made perfect in our weakness, and as per Gideon’s story – light pours forth when the vessel is broken.

This did not catch God by surprise and his purposes and plans for you will continue to be worked out in and through this time of brokenness and weakness..

    Grace Erickson, Chiang Mai Thailand.
