Jon Leedahl Update – Oct. 16, 2014 @ 8:12 p.m. CT

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges My Name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him My salvation.” – Psalm 91

Adie called about an hour ago from her friend’s phone. She shared some about the first few hours in the clinic. At first Jon was awake and talking. He knew he had been in a motorcycle accident, but couldn’t remember it happening. He did go into shock, but came to after the second unit of blood. Two fellow pilots were with him holding his hands to keep his arms steady during the transfer to the ambulance and then into the plane. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire transport.

She said the transfer from the plane into the hospital’s ambulance was difficult. Adie said the orthopedic surgeon is very nice. He allowed her to scrub up and stay with Jonathan while they prepped him for surgery. She did not have to leave him until they started the operation.

The doctor recommended that Adie try to get some sleep. She was finally able to fall asleep, but only for a few hours. After she awoke, she used her host family’s computer to access notes and messages from our prayer team. They are very encouraged by all the messages from people, Scripture verses that have been shared, and prayers from around the world.

The boys are staying with friends of Jon and Adie’s in PNG and are doing well. Thank you for your prayers. We will continue to post updates as they come available.

Prayer List:

  • Praise! Adie’s friend Michelle was able to join up with Jon & Adie in Cairns, Australia. She has been a Godsend of support.
  • Continued healing for Jon’s right leg. He has extensive damage throughout his leg and the doctors are monitoring the muscles for any indication of a more serious condition. Pray for the blood and tissue to restore the leg back to full strength.
  • Pray for Jon’s blood pressure to stay up. Because of his extensive blood loss, doctors are focused on maintaining a normal blood pressure level for Jon.
  • Pray for an opportunity for the boys to be reunited with Jon and Adie soon.

    Psalms 116:7 -Be at rest one more time O my soul for God is good to you- has been a verse that the Lord have me when we were going thru one of our recent family crisis. May this verse help you rest in Him one more time each time you feel anxiety and stress.
